Scour is a growing concern for bridges worldwide. In this article we explain how being able to identify, monitor and determine the relative importance of phenomena such as scour on a certain bridge plays a fundamental role in order to guarantee its safety.

Reasons for the collapse of a bridge: Morandi Bridge

Since 2000 there have been 115 major bridge collapses worldwide, and more than 22 of them occurred in the past 2 years. The Morandi Bridge in Genoa in 2018 was one of them. In this article we explain what the causes of its collapse were and how this tragedy could have been prevented using our methodology.
